I. Special handling and worker precautions for storage and field application.

1. Flammability: NONE

2. Ventilation: Normal ventilation is adequate

3. Skin/eye contact; protective clothing; treatment in case of contact:

Avoid contact with skin. -The use of gloves is recommended, especially when there are open wounds. If the skin is exposed, wash with soapy water.
Avoid contact with eyes. - The use of protective goggles is recommended. In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 continuous minutes. Call a physician.
Avoid inhalation and ingestion. - It is recommended that workers wear dust masks and not eat or smoke while handling the products.

4. Storage

Maximum storage temperature: 90 degrees F
Minimum storage temperature: -30 degrees F
Optimum storage temperature: 32 degrees F to 70 degrees F
Temperature of phase separations and chemical changes: 130 degrees F.

II. Shelf Life:

The shelf life of “STEP 1 Microorganism” is over 3 years.
The shelf life of “STEP 1 ACHIEVE” is over 10 years.
The shelf life of the combined mixture of these two products is over 3 years.

III. Recommended Application Procedure:
1. Application Method:
These products are only sold together.
They are mixed by the user in a nominal ratio of 1:2.5:80 of “STEP 1”: “STEP 1 ACHIEVE”: and water. It is to be applied in accordance with B&S Research Inc. requirements by an authorized distributor or agent.

All purchase contracts will include specified application methods (spray, plowing, agitation, etc.) appropriate for the particular situation.

2. Concentration/Application Rate:
Normally, the “STEP 1” water mixture is applied to the contaminated area at the rate of 1 gallon per acre.

3. Conditions for Use:
The “STEP 1” water mixture can be used on most hydrocarbons including crude and refined petroleum products, pesticides, etc., on land, fre3sh water, or ocean water.
Laboratory tests also indicate effectiveness in destruction of PCBs. In certain circumstances, it may be required to perform a laboratory soil and water contamination test before the product may be used.

IV. TOXICITY: Non-toxic (Ref: U.S. Testing Co. Inc. Report 063636)

V. TESTS:
1. For a mixture of one part “STEP 1 MICROORGANISM” and 2.5 parts “STEP 1 ACHIEVE” with 80 parts water.

Salinity: Fresh or salt (ocean <110pm) water, land or dry surfaces.

3. Minimum and maximum pH, temperature, and salinity levels below or above which shows the effectiveness of the mixture is reduced to half its optimum capacity:
PH: Below 5 or above 9 apply neutralizing agents - lime or P205
Temperature: <50 degrees or >135 degrees F
Salinity: 0-110 ppm
